Google’s voice typing works differently on my Pixel 5 compared to my Pixel 4. Why is that?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿง

My Pixel 4 does voice typing much better than my Pixel 5. Is it a hardware issue? Is Google software designed to function differently on different hardware? Why does the software perform worse on newer hardware?

Google Voice desperately needs a new client application

I didn’t even feel like I need to say anything else. ๐Ÿคฃ Yes there have been improvements but Jesus Christ. It lags so far behind in features. Either discontinue the client or sell it to somebody or something. It’s obvious that you aren’t giving a damn about it right now.

Problem on VMware Horizon getting my computer’s built-in microphone to work when I plug in headphones

For me, the microphone worked when I plugged in the headphones BEFORE starting VMware Horizon.  When I plugged in the headphones AFTER starting Horizon the microphone did not work.

When I plug in these headphones without running Horizon my host OS, an Ubuntu variant, prompts me to choose whether it is a pair of headphones only or if it is a headset with a microphone attached.ย  I’m guessing that it’s possible that when I plug in the headphones after starting Horizon my host OS decides it’s a headset with a built-in mic and then Horizon tries to use a mic from the headphones, ignoring my computer’s built-in mic.ย  Just a guess!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
